Elettrotec’s IF..E flow switch uses a novel variation of the Variable Area principle to produce a compact, robust metal bodied flow switch with a high/low flow alarm for a wide variety of higher pressure applications such as cooling circuits, transformers, heat exchangers, welding machines and some hydraulics. Instead of using a traditional conical shaped tube and float, Elettrotec uses a cylindrical float in a cylindrical holder with a ‘V’ shaped grove. This solution not only allows for a much shorter installation length but means a spring can be fitted above the float to give a measure of viscosity independence, so it can be used on media up to 205 cSt. All clean low viscosity media can be measured such a water, chemicals, coolant, light oil and heavy oil ie just about anything that is <200 cSt and compatible with the materials of construction. To act as a flow alarm a N/O (with no flow) or a change-over contact is fitted for a low/no or overflow warning.
